Action? Adventure? Romance? How to choose wisely.

It's Saturday night, and you are arguing again with your group of friends on what genre of movie everyone will agree to see. Or maybe you're with your significant other and they settle to see the newest romance flick that has been released, but you know deep down in your heart they're just yearning for another action movie. Normally your partner can say what they want, but data can prove them otherwise. According to Statista, when it comes to men, the genre that beats out the rest is comedy with a heavy 74%. Action isn't very far behind with a 73%. However, when it comes to women, your safest bet is with the drama department, with the highest percentage on the charts of 80%. Generally speaking everybody loves some good ol' comedic relief, so you'll still be playing it safe if you took your woman to a comedy film, with 74% of women in favor for that department. So now you know what each gender typically goes for, but why should you settle when you could potentially both be happy? This is where the adventure genre sweeps the nation off of it's feet. All the way from 1995 to the current 2018, adventure has brought in the highest total box office revenue. Around 58.44 billion dollars has been raked in by the adventure genre, and comparatively the action is dragging behind at only 40 billion. So if you're on a first date and you take the movie route, quit listening to your gut and leave it to the data, see an adventure movie.
