(Link at the bottom, please click on it!)

So in my first post we looked at how YouTube's analytics worked and how to find and use analytics within YouTube from a creator's perspective. You learned the basic 101's of how to calculate and find data on YouTube. The second post was more about looking a certain creator to see how he could incorporate the data that he gathered from his videos. The creator we looked at was David Dobrik, a big well known YouTuber. So for the last post, we be summarizing how a potential business or yourself could use the help of data analytics to help improve your business or promote yourself. The information will be broken down into a series of different topics to help you understand the topics and how to use them effectively.

For the first topic I will be discussing how YouTube analytics can help you promote your business or self. So has I had mentioned in my first post YouTube analytics is actually Google Analytics because YouTube is owned by Google. So keeping that in mind you can use the YouTube analytics to help promote your business by knowing certain things from the analytics slide. For example, when looking for where the traffic sources came from you can see what percentage came from where. As you can see from the picture above most of our video analytics come from our own channel and other source. So this a good representation to see what channels you can use to promote your business and it also helps you identify what channels you need a little bit better improvement on.

You can also compare different categories on YouTube just like you would be able to on Google Trends but this is more directed towards what you creating. For example, in the image below I compared our videos to the people who were subscribed that watched our video to the people who watch our videos but are not subscribed yet. The orange line represents the number of people that watch our videos that were not subscribed and the blue represents the people who are subscribed who watched our videos. As you can see that at the beginning there were more people who watched our videos that were not subscribed and later on you notice that the blue lines started to get bigger well that is because the people who weren't subscribed became subscribers. So keeping that aspect in mind this where a potential business can get the attention of their by seeing who actually is interested in what they are selling or doing and what the ratio of people that care about their business. Once you start making money on YouTube you can also track you revenue for the year.

Finally, my last tip for anyone wanting to start a YouTube channel to grow your business or even just to promote yourself. According to Sproutsocial.com you can become a successful YouTuber by knowing how to read your analytics. The first step in understanding your analytics by knowing what each one actually means. But don't worry YouTube can help you understand what each one means. By breaking down your numbers you can figure out what content to create in your future. It helps you understand your audience and the content that people want to see from you.

Lastly, Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Sincerely,
