The Kansas City Ballet is a successful and innovating company that has been growing exponentially over the past few years. After closely following the improvements they have made both as a brand and as an artistic pillar of the Kansas City community, I wanted to measure their efforts and compare their success to that of a similar company, Ballet West.
Ballet West compares greatly to Kansas City Ballet in size, talent, resources and the ability to put on a beautiful production. However, there is something different. The presence of Ballet West seems to stretch beyond Salt Lake City and for some reason, this smaller company has made a name for themselves within the competitive ballet community.
My first step is to breakdown some important information about each company. In the chart below you will find a list of measurements that we will use throughout the next few weeks. Our goal will be to unpack what Ballet West is doing right and how Kansas City Ballet can be doing better. With data and stats promenading our discussion, we will hopefully leap into a conclusion and take a final bow on the matter.
