Could you guess what was in this? Ya, us either. According to Starbucks, the drink is composed of a pink powder which makes it's color, mango syrup, and sour blue toppings as a drizzle. In Frappuccino form… The drink was only available for a limited time only during April 19th-23rd.
People couldn't have been that interested in this right? Wrong. Google Trends showed that in the United States, the top 5 popular states where the drink really kicked off was Minnesota, Kentucky, New Mexico, Ohio, and Indiana. However, this isn't what interested us the most. The drink is more popular in the Philippines! I guess they have a taste for "sourly" flavors over there?
Why the Unicorn drink? Yes Unicorns range in different colors such as blue, pink, and purple, but Do you see any other drinks that have these bizarre names? No. Why didn't they name the Pumpkin spice latte the "Troll Latte?" Just a thought.
We all know Starbucks has its range of flavors from chi tea lattes, to pumpkin spice Frappuccino's and more. But how does this sourly flavor fit in with the rest? And why was this drink only available for a limited time? Did people not enjoy it? We would love to hear from you if you had the chance to try this exotic drink!
