Justice League flies to the top at box office

By Abigail Gentrup

First off, I'd like to apologize for being a day or two late in posting! I went home to visit my parents this past weekend and they did not notify me that our Internet was out… But I'm back and can finally post!

One movie that I'm very excited to talk about this week is Justice League! I had been waiting for this moving to come out for a while—I had even bought my ticket about a week in advance. I'll also talk about another movie, called Wonder, which did very well in the box office coming out at number two.

Justice League

Let's start off with Justice League, which release on November 17. In case you didn't know, this movie is about all of the DC superheroes. It includes Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman and even a couple more. Like most superhero movies, the team tries to take down a villain. The domestic total for Justice League from Warner Brothers this weekend was $96,000,000. It came out on top at the box office with hardly any competition. When I looked for the search results for Justice League, it was one of the movies that had been searched the most that I've seen. There was a volume of 135K and the number of search results was 83.2 million – now that's a lot. Some of the related keywords were "justice league throne of atlantis," "justice league movie," and "justice league 2017."

Wonder

Next, let's talk about the movie Wonder. This was a drama from Lionsgate, based on a book about a boy with facial differencing entering the fifth grade. The domestic total for this movie was $27,050,000. While this is not nearly as much as Justice League, the movie did very well compared to others! When searching for this movie, I ran into some problems. When I typed in simply the word "wonder," the

wonder bread company came up. After this, I tried to type in "wonder movie." This had a volume of 1.6K and the search results came out to 25.4 million. However, this seems as if these results might not be for this movie because the phrase match keywords were, "wonder woman movie," "some kind of wonderful movie," and "it's a wonderful life full movie." This is a great example of how specific searches need to be.

I hope you guys enjoyed this week's blog post and again, please let me know you would like to see me talk about any specific movies that you like!
