Thanksgiving Travels

In October 1621, the Pilgrims had celebrated the "First Thanksgiving" after their first harvest in the New World on the Americas land. This lasted three days feast has been accustomed by the New England colonists for celebrating "thanksgivings" which concerned as days of prayer to tanks God's blessings for the human. In 1789, the Thanksgiving has been celebrated from a harvest festival to nationally after the Congress requested the George Washington's proclamation. In today's the United States,  Thanksgiving Day is a public holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of the November.

 

Thanksgiving is usually a four or five days weekend vacation for schools and colleges, while most business and government offices also have given their employees Thanksgiving vacation as paid holidays. Thus, according to the Blackout Wednesday identified, the Thanksgiving Eve has been one of the busiest nights of a year for clubs and bars due to people such as college students return to their own hometown and reunion with families and friends. Also, the Thanksgiving Day weekend had been one of the busiest travel periods in a year, as people return hometowns or take travels with families.

 

In present, Thanksgiving Day has become one of the most important holidays for citizens of the United States. According to the surveyed by the United States' Census Bureau,  there are 118.9 million of occupied housing united across this nation would potential stops for Thanksgiving dinner in the second quarter of 2017.




 

However, the Thanksgiving Day is the most popular holiday in the United States now. As a part of traditional celebrations, taking travels during the Thanksgiving vacation is a great option for Americans now.  By statistics of the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the number of more-than-50-miles trips increased by 54 percent year-over-year. To visit friends and families is the biggest reason for the American taking travels during the Thanksgiving holiday. According to the report by NewRoom, AAA projects also reported that there were 48.7 million American had journeyed a long trip in Thanksgiving in 2016.

 

Although there were about 91 percent travelers chose to drive the personal vehicle for taking trips, airline companies and travel companies still offers the deals of Thanksgiving Travel. When you enter the keyword of "Thanksgiving travels", the first related search would be shown as "Thanksgiving travel deals" for you. The Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson, Los Angeles LAX, Chicago O'Hare, Dallas Fort Worth and New York JFK were the busiest airports in terms of passenger volume in past years.

 

Through searching keyword "Thanksgiving Travel", we could find out that the searching peak is always beginning two weeks before the Thanksgiving Day, like around the Nov.10, and then decline the searching of it till the end of the Thanksgiving weekend (most on the first week after the Thanksgiving weekend).
