With the rise of social media, comes the rise of these insta-celebs. People are flocking to social media platforms to connect with their favorite celebrities and influencers. But they aren't only keeping up with the Kardashians (I'll admit I follow the Klan on snapchat). Youtubers, Viners (is this still a thing?) Instagram models ect are all on snapchat. This unique platform has revolutionized how people communicate. Once thought to be a fad app for teens to send nudes that would disappear after a few seconds has exploded to disrupt the market, and brands are noticing.

Similar to Youtube partnership, influencers are able to monetize and create a revenue stream using snapchat. How you may ask? Stay tuned and I'll spill the beans.

1. Create a cult like following - duh

Now before you stop reading, hear me out. Snapchat is unique in the sense that there really is no way to search users outside of mutual connects, phone contact and username. So if you haven't built a following elsewhere it will be hard for users to search you. Now there is a loophole for this.

2. Network!

Befriend other influencers who are already thriving and ask for a shoutout. You will want to consult those with high follower count and views. You are able to view your snap story views and screenshots (which are those green exploding stars next to the number.)

3. Location Location Location!

Go on interesting adventures / vacations often? Snap that! Eating at a hip and aesthetically pleasing new sushi joint? Snap it! Have some insane story times? Snap it. The key to winning over followers and engaging others is to have interesting content. You can't become an insta-celeb by posing boring snaps. With snapchat you are able to track user experience by seeing how your viewer count fluctuates. Had a story you thought was awesome but as the snaps continued less viewers tuned in? You can take that insight and presume that people lost interest. Maybe your selfies  or shout outs perform the best? Maybe your viewers are more interested in asking you questions. Snapchat now allows users to post links for other websites/ blogs/ youtube videos. Utilize these by linking your sahara (an app that allows you to receive anon messages/ comments.)
