THE EVOLUTION OF YOUTUBE

TITLE: THE EVOLUTION OF YOUTUBE

BY: CHRISTINA SMITH

YouTube is almost approaching its 13th anniversary!! I'll admit I get caught watching video after video and next thing I know I'm watching something completely off topic from what I first searched for. I remember in high school YouTube was a place to watch comical, how-to or informal videos with your friends. I can vividly remember watching videos like "The Annoying Orange" "Charlie Bit my Finger" and "Evolution of Dance".

Now 6 years later, 2017 YouTube is still a place for users to upload videos but there seems to be a new trend of users.  The term You Tubers" is very common.  Where users from anywhere have made their career on YouTube by just simply uploading videos. I'm sure most of you can name a You Tuber that you follow or at least have heard of. You Tuber's such as Jenna Marbles, Tyler Oakley or Miranda Sings just to name a few are one of the most popular channels. But there are so many more "youtubers" out there creating content in all different genera's and demographics.  You see videos from beauty to gaming, music covers to sporting. It has almost become like a Google. You could change the term "Google it" to "youtube it" If you want to figure out how to fish braid your hair, "YouTube it" if you want to figure out how to use the lasso tool in photo shop, "YouTube it"
