Tracking YouTube Analytics might seem difficult but it doesn't have to! Here are a list of the 5 most important tabs you will come across and what they mean.

 

How to get there?

When you sign in to your Google account and navigate to your YouTube channel page. At the top of your channel page, you will see subscribers, views and a link called video manager. Click Views if you want to go directly to your analytics.

 

Overview Page

Once you are at your views page you are looking at the overall analytics. It gives you data for the past 28 days, but you can change that as you wish. Overview is the best place to see overall performance and engagement.

 

Views Reports

The Views show you how many people have watched your video as well as how many people clicked a link that began playing your video. This page also shows you the estimated minutes watched which shows how many minutes of your videos have been views as collective and average view duration, which shows the average of how far people are getting into watching your videos.

 

Demographics Page

The two insights that are available under this page is gender and location.

 

Traffic Sources

This page shows you how people are finding your videos. This might include: YouTube search, YouTube suggested videos, or YouTube Playlist.

 

Subscribers, Likes, Favorites and Shares

These tabs show you how many people subscribe and unsubscribed to your channel. How many people liked or disliked, favorite or shared your video.
