Does this fitness tracker make me look fast?

By Jaeli Flanders

The industry of fitness trackers is nothing short of saturated. In fact, when I purchased my first tracker, I bought one that my sister had because I was too afraid to venture out and weed through all of the different types and kinds. After sorting through articles and reviews, I found the top three fitness trackers I think give runners the best data for their dollar.

Fitbit Charge Three

Starting at $149.99, the Fitbit Charge Three reveals insights about your heart and health, especially as you exercise. This fitness tracker gives you details like 24/7 heart rate, daily calorie burns and heart rate zones. This tracker also tracks more than just steps. Sleep, female health and other goals are tracked in the Fitbit dashboard app as well. The Fitbit Charge Three will recognize workouts and mark real-time pace and distance during a run. This wrist-band tracker is waterproof and will remind you to breathe or move in case you forget. The Charge Three is compatible with all phone platforms, making it easy to check notifications, the weather and your calendar. Overall, the tracker is lightweight and durable with a battery that can last up to seven days. This is a popular choice for runners as it tracks essential components of a healthy lifestyle.

Garmin Forerunner 235

Coming in at $249.99, the Garmin Forerunner 235 is also a popular tracker among runners. This gadget tracks your distance, pace, time and 24/7 heart rate. Connected features allow you to upload data to Garmin Connect, listen to audio prompts, check smart notifications and share your progress on social media. The Garmin Forerunner 235 will also count your daily steps, as it should, and measure your daily calories and sleep pattern. This watch particularly stands out to runners with its GPS capabilities. It can quickly and accurately locate you, whether you're running downtown or in the woods, if you're into that. The Garmin Forerunner 235 is customizable to every runner and can help you reach the goals you set.

Apple Watch Series Four

You're probably familiar with the famous Apple Watch. Even with the hefty price tag it carries, $400 to be exact, it's one of the trendiest trackers out there today. Disclaimer, the Series Four is the most recent version of the Apple Watches and also only pairs with iPhone users. This tracking device lets you set individual goals, measure your calories, heart rate and of course count your steps all while dumping the data in your iPhone Activity app for you to analyze. Perhaps, the feature that runners can appreciate the most is the pace alert you'll get during a workout to let you know if you're ahead, behind or right where you want to be. It's so precise you can even see your steps per minute. It also has automatic workout detection and will connect with compatible gym equipment to better measure stats. The Apple Watch Series Four is always ready for you, whether your workouts are amateur or professional.
