Blogging is taking media by storm. From food bloggers to travel bloggers, there is sure to be a blog that fit's anyone's interests? However, with so many people taking up this hobby (or job), it's hard for blogs to stand out. So, this begs the question: How do blogs become successful? Is it the aesthetic? The content? Or everything above? In this post, we'll take a look at how data can play a role in successful blogging.
Step 1: Creating the Blog
- Choose your blogging platform and domain
- Design your blog using a simple theme
- Modify your blog to define your style
- Select the best plugins for your blog.
- Write compelling content, start blogging
Step 2: Let's talk about data.
Daily Posts: Many blogs only post articles once or twice per week. These blogs will have a harder time generating the traffic they need to be successful. A recent study from Edison and Hubspot found that bloggers that post content every day generate 400 percent more traffic and leads than those that don't. Consider Having Multiple Contributors: Blogs with multiple authors have tend to do better. Nearly 63 percent of bloggers said that blogs with multiple authors received more traffic and became more credible.Focus on Attracting Repeat Customers:
According to analytics data, 80 percent of all blog traffic comes from new visitors. This can also indicate some bloggers aren’t doing enough to draw repeat visitors. A team of researchers from Harvard School of Business found that increasing repeat visitors by 5% can increase profits by as much as 125%. You need to focus on converting your new visitors into loyal, long-term readers if you want to create a profitable blog. - Blog posts published around 11 am get more page views than posts made at any other time of day
