Data tracking technology helps not only hikers, but other outdoor recreational activities such as rock climbing, running, biking, etc. No matter what or where your next adventure takes you, data from wearable technology can help you get the desired results.
Many of my friends and family either wear a fitness tracker, Apple Watch, FitBit, or some other type of tracking device. Most are tracking steps and maybe even sleep cycles. Regardless of how they are using it, wearing this technology helps them strive to improve their health. If their goal is 10,000 steps in a day, they will use the technology to keep them on track and active throughout the day.
You can use wearable technology in similar ways as how hikers use wearable technology. Marathon runners can (and most do) use tracking technology during their training period. Many rock climbers can keep track of elevation and GPS to get back to camp. Campers can use wearable technology if they have health problems and need to keep track while away from home.
Bottom line is that wearable technology can benefit anyone if they are wanting to be more active. You don’t have to be a star triathlon athlete or a seasonal mountain climber to want to wear them; everyone can join in on the fun! The challenge is finding the right piece of technology that fits your needs and wants. Get tracking!
