Should The Cavaliers Use Jeff Green In The playoffs Or Not?

During the Cavaliers Game 1 matchup versus the Indiana Pacers, Jeff Green had an ugly performance for Cleveland. Not only did he look mismatched against Indiana's Thaddeus Young, but he shot an abysmal 0-for-7 from the field. As a result, Indiana ran away with the 98-80 upset. So now the question lies; does Cleveland continue to start Jeff Green in the lineup or do they decide to go a different direction?

The case for Green to continue to start is that he pairs really well with Lebron James. Together, the Cavaliers have a net rating of 7.8 when both are on the court. The interesting thing is when Lebron takes the court without Green, his net rating falls to -2.0. And when Green plays without Lebron on the court, his net rating is still a -2.0. Knowing Green's past history and Lebron's history it seems that Jeff Greens on-floor analytics are being raised by the star he is playing with.

The case against Green seeing action is that his most valuable asset is being a defender and if the Cavaliers are not going to use him to attack the ball handler and cause havoc, then there really isn't much use for him. Offensively, Green has never been known for being able to shoot the lights out of an arena. That's a problem when the Cleveland Cavaliers identity is being able to outscore their opponents to win the game. Jeff Green just seems to be an awkward component in this Cavaliers squad. Only time will tell if Head Coach Tyronn Lue thinks the same thing.
